ICD-9-CM Coding Guidelines, which includes AHIMA, along with the American
Hospital Association, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and the
National Center for Health Statistics, have approved two statements clarifying
the use of external cause and unspecified codes in ICD-10-CM. Read
